CURTAIN CALL OFFERS YEAR-ROUND PERFORMANCE WORKSHOPS FOR CHILDREN, TEENS AND ADULTS.

WITH THE EXCEPTION OF OUR ACTING FOR KIDS AND ADULT IMPROV CLASSES, REGISTRATION FOR OUR SPRING 2008 SESSION IS NOW CLOSED.  OUR FALL SESSION WILL BEGIN IN SEPTEMBER.

FULL-DAY CURRICULUMS IN THE PERFORMING ARTS ARE AVAILABLE FOR AGES 6 THRU 16 WITH OUR SUMMERSTOCK AND SUMMERSTOCK WORKSHOP PROGRAMS (SEE DETAILS BELOW).

Curtain Call is proud to offer workshop programs for students ages 4 thru adult in various forms of performing arts from acting to improv and comedy, musical theatre, on-camera work, audition techniques, writing for stage and screen, Shakespeare and more. Workshop sessions run Fall, Winter and Spring, after school, evenings and weekends.

Please be advised that Curtain Call, Inc. follows the Stamford Public Schools calendar regarding holiday, vacation and emergency/weather-related closings. Therefore, on April 14-18 and May 26, our regular after school, evening and weekend classes will not take place.

Through ensemble exercises, aspiring actors will develop timing, stage presence, expression, and an understanding of character relationships. Level Two students will explore more complex scenes and monologues and must have taken our Level One class. Tony Republicano is a professional actor who’s taught with New England Academy of Theatre, Artworks, Middle School University and Interactive Educational Theatre.

Improv is unscripted theatre. Actors build confidence, instincts, timing and shed inhibitions by creating scenes and characters on the spot. Tony Republicano creates a non –pressure, humorous environment where students walk away with sharpened skills, confidence, and public speaking competence. Tony  has also taught with New England Academy of Theatre, Artworks, Middle School University and the Interactive Educational Theatre.

Summerstock Performing Arts Workshops

SUMMERSTOCK 2008:

A SUMMER OF SHAKESPEARE AND SEUSS!!!

In conjunction with the 5th anniversary of our

Shakespeare on the Green and our 18th Summer Youth Theatre production, Sesussical the Musical, SUMMERSTOCK 2008 explores Shakespeare and Dr. Seuss: two artists who've inspired us through language.

Summerstock Creative Theatre: Green Eggs and Hamlet?  June 25-July 3; Mon.-Fri., 9:30am-4:30pm for ages 11 to 16. Examine Shakespeare and Seuss from different theatrical perspectives using different acting techniques!

Summerstock Musical Theatre: From Bard to Broadway July 7-18; Mon.-Fri., 9:30am-4:30pm for ages 11 to 16.  Explore musicals based on the works of Shakespeare, and how classical literature is transformed to Broadway hit!

Summerstock Junior: Thing One and Thing Two, two separate two-week sessions. Thing One: July 21-Aug. 1 and Thing Two: Aug. 11-22; Mon.-Fri., 10am-3pm for ages 6 to 11.  A well-rounded creative experience, including acting, movement, voice, theatre design and stage craft.  Each session creates a showcase based on themes from Dr. Seuss!

Summerstock Creative Theatre: Green Eggs and Hamlet?

Summerstock Creative Theatre: Green Eggs and Hamlet? (Ages 11 to 16) June 25 - July 3; M-F, 9:30am - 4:30pm.

Students will explore three distinct types of acting: Improvisation, Modern Acting and Shakespeare.  In age appropriate groups, they will work on scenes and acting techniques while building self-confidence, creativity and performance instincts. This summer, Creative Theatre will explore and compare themes from both Shakespeare and Dr. Seuss, examining them from different theatrical perspectives.

Summerstock Musical Theatre: From Bard to Broadway (Ages 11 to 16) July 7-18; M-F, 9:30am-4:30pm.

This two-week intensive offers a fun and focused environment where students can learn to sing, act, move and dance for musical theatre performance.  Students will also gain insight in how to prepare for an audition.  Musical Theatre 2008 will explore musicals based on the works of William Shakespeare, and how classical literature can be transformed into some of the biggest, hottest and memorable hits on Broadway!
